Bluenesse® - Stress relief for cognitive performance

Bluenesse® is a patented lemon balm extract (Melissa officinalis), standardised to 6% rosmarinic acid. With a studied mechanism of action supporting cognitive function, Bluenesse® is associated with changes in cortisol levels observed within 1 hour in clinical studies, and helps support a normal stress response and cognitive performance. Supported by published clinical trials. 300mg/day.

Bluenesse® - Key features

  • Patented, standardised lemon balm extract
  • Associated with measurable changes in cortisol levels within 1 hour
  • Supports a normal stress response
  • Contributes to emotional comfort without stimulant effects
  • Supports cognitive performance, including memory and alertness

Science supporting Bluenesse®

Bluenesse® has been studied for its effects on stress response and cognitive performance, with outcomes observed within 1 hour in two published acute human clinical studies. Its mechanism of action has been investigated through in‑vitro studies, including documented receptor‑binding properties.

Characterisation

Bluenesse® is a botanical extract obtained by water extraction of lemon balm leaves (Melissa officinalis L.), a traditional herb native to Europe. Specific batches of lemon balm are selected for their biological activity profile, assessed through standardised in‑vitro testing, ensuring consistency and quality of the extract.

Bluenesse® is standardised to 6% rosmarinic acid, its primary characterised bioactive compound.

Cortisol levels and anxiety.

Statistically significant changes in cortisol levels were observed following Bluenesse® consumption, compared with baseline and placebo conditions in acute settings.

Changes in stress response scores were observed, consistent with support of a normal stress response following intake.

Nootropic effect

Statistically significant changes were observed in cognitive performance parameters, including working memory, alertness, mathematical task performance and immediate word recall, at 1 hour and 3 hours post‑consumption, compared with placebo.
