Science supporting Oleactiv®
Remnant cholesterol refers to the cholesterol content of triglyceride‑rich lipoproteins and is increasingly recognised as an LDL‑independent lipid fraction involved in cardiometabolic health. These particles are rich in both triglycerides and cholesterol and are known to interact with arterial tissues, contributing to lipid‑related metabolic processes.
Oleactiv® has been investigated for its potential role in supporting cardiometabolic health through lipid and glucose metabolism. Preclinical research provides mechanistic substantiation suggesting that Oleactiv® may influence pathways linked to lipid handling and insulin sensitivity. In addition, a randomised, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled human clinical crossover study indicates a potential contribution to normal cholesterol management, including remnant cholesterol, as well as triglyceride balance and markers related to insulin sensitivity.
Characterisation
Oleactiv® combines polyphenols from grape, pomegranate, olive leaf, blackcurrant, artichoke and red grape, providing the same daily quantity of phenolic compounds as as the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables.
